At least four people including a cop were killed in ongoing spate of targeted killings at different parts of metropolis on Thursday. According to police, a cop and his friend were shot dead at Ahsanabad in the limits of Gulshan Maymar police station. They said the police found two bullet-riddled bodies in a house situated at Gulshan Atari Ahsanabad near National Secondary school.
They said the victims were identified as Sub-Inspector Mulazim Hussain son of Ghulam Sarwar and his 38-year-old friend Mohammad Mumtaz alias Babu, son of Yousuf. They said that both victims were living in New Karachi area. DSP Iftikhar Lodhi said the deceased Mulazim Hussain was deployed at Khawaja Ajmair Nagri police head quarter and his friend was working as a contractor in different garments factory. He said that both victims used to sit with friends in that house where police found two bottles of wines, snacks and around six empty shells of Kalashnikov.
The bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for legal formalities. DSP said police have collected some evidence from the spot and they also detained the house owner and initiated probe in this case. A 24-year-old man was gunned down at Korangi Link road near Vita Chowrangi in the jurisdiction of Korangi police station. Police said the victim 24-year-old Murad Ali son of Jaffar was targeted when he was going along with a girl on his motorcycle.
They said the unidentified man, who came in a car, fired five bullets on him, resultantly, he received multiple bullets and died on the spot while the armed man forcibly nabbed the girl and managed to flee from the scene. Police shifted the body to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico legal formalities. Police said the victim, who was the resident of Korangi Mehran Town, had had affair with the said girl and wanted to marry with her but the family members of girl refused his proposal. They suspected that the family members of girl might have involved in his murder. No case was registered till filing of this report.
A bullet-riddled body of a man was found in the remits of Sacchal police station. The victim was later identified as Mohammad Sohail Khan son of Khursheed Alam, a resident of Rabia Flowers Abul Hassan Isphani Road. Police said the victim used to run a garments business at F B Area and a father of two. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) and later handed over his family. A case was registered case against unidentified men on the complaint of state and initiated probe in this case.
