Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Wednesday unveiled a plan to celebrate the upcoming 64th Independence Day with national zeal and enthusiasm across the country. Talking to reporters outside the parliament house, PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafiq said that Independence Day would be celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal across the country.
He said that his party had decided to celebrate the Independence Day under the title "Yaum-e-Tajeed-i-Ahad-e-Wafa" to remind the countrymen of making Pakistan corruption free, sovereign along with giving rights to every citizen irrespective of their religion, cast and creed.
Under the programme, he said that candle would be lit in all major cities of the four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir to pay tributes to the martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the creation of Pakistan. He said President of PML-N Nawaz Sharif would visit Allama Iqbal Mausoleum to offer Fateha and would also address the masses on the eve of Independence Day. In Lahore, he said that a large gathering in connection with Independence Day celebrations would be organised in the premises of historic Minar-e-Pakistan while in Islamabad a similar programme with lighting candles would also be arranged at Abpara Chowk.
