With revival of Sindh Local Government Ordinance (SLGO) 2001, the 101 Taluka Municipal Administrations (TMAs) of province and 18 towns of Karachi would get Rs 26,321.955 million initially.
Sources in the Sindh Finance Department told Business Recorder that Sindh government had seized all funds, excluding salaries, of City District Government of Karachi (CDGK), District Governments and TMAs after the promulgation of an ordinance regarding revival of Local government system 1979 and abolishment of Sindh Local Government Ordinance (SLGO) 2001 a few weeks back.
But, with the revival of SLGO 2001, 18 towns of Karachi and 101 TMAs of interior Sindh have been restored so that their funds would also be unfrozen, sources said. Sources said that Baldia Town of Karachi would receive Rs 401.285 m, Bin Qasim Town would get Rs 568.284 m, Gadap Town would get Rs 532.740 m, Gulberg town would receive Rs 347.064 m and Gulshan-e-Iqbal would get Rs 551.605 m out of total amount of Rs 26,321.955 million.
Besides, Rs 355.769 m would be given to Jamshed Town, Rs 454.916m to Korangi town, Rs 535.442 m to Landhi town, Rs 495.923 m to Liaqatabad, Rs 500.229 m to Layari, Rs 416.707 m to Malir Town, Rs 457.023 m to North Nazimabad, Rs 548.223 m to New Karachi town, Rs 656.133 m to Orangi, Rs 465.170 m to Saddar, Rs 359.268 m to Shah Faisal town, and Rs 457.881 m would be given to Site town, sources said.
Similarly, according to the details of TMAs of interior Sindh, the TMA Badin would get Rs 226.607 m, TMA Matli would get Rs 199.535 m, TMA Fazal Rahu would receive Rs 185.314 m, TMA Talhar would get Rs 147.534 m, TMA Tando Bago would get Rs 203.231 m, TMA Dadu would get Rs 218.398 m, TMA Johi would receive Rs 187.968 m, TMA Khairpur Nathan Shah would get Rs 186.388 m and TMA Mehar would get Rs 203.881 m, sources said.
Besides, Rs 135.031 m would be given to TMA Daharki, Rs 98.508 m to Khan Garh, Rs 123.959 m to Mirpur Mathelo, Rs 162.904 m to Ubauro, Rs 181.608 m to Hyderabad (Rural), Rs 420.179 m to Hyderabad City, Rs 345.805 m to Latifabad, Rs 190.084 m to Qasimabad, Rs 93.661 m to Garhi Khero and Rs 169.201 m would be given to TMA of Jocobabad, sources said.

Mirpur Bathoro would get Rs 150.324 m, Mirpur Sakro Rs 211.696 m, Shah Bunder Rs 162.389 m, Sujawal Rs 131.138 m, Thatta Rs 236.144 m, Kunri Rs 177.894 m, Pithoro Rs 114.758 m, Samaro Rs 134.538 m and TMA Umerkot would get Rs 276.314m, sources said. These funds would be used for the salaries, routine expenditures and development schemes of Towns and TMAs, sources said. All notifications regarding the restoration of funds of revived institutions would be issued within next couple of days, sources concluded.
