The Supreme Court (SC) will announce its reserved judgement on Monday (tomorrow). The verdict is pertained to the reinstatement of FIA Additional Director Zafar Ahmed Qureshi, the lead investigator in the multi-billion National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) scam.
The judgement was reserved on July 25. A three-member bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Tariq Parvez and Justice Amir Hani Muslim was hearing a suo motu notice regarding the NICL scam. Earlier, despite repeated directives, Maulvi Anwarul Haq (AGP) failed to file the response on behalf of the Prime Minister through Principal Secretary, Secretary Establishment and Secretary Interior in connection with the reinstatement of Zafar Ahmed Qureshi.
The court had directed the AGP to seek instructions from the PM on the status of Zafar Qureshi's reinstatement, who faced disciplinary action repeatedly despite court's clear instructions to the authorities to refrain from initiating any action against him without bringing the matter to the court's notice.
