Provincial police has made fool-proof security arrangements on the occasion of Namaz-Juma of Ramazan-ul-Mubarik in the metropolis. Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) has directed Lahore Police to keep security level red alert on the occasion of first Namaz-e-Juma of Ramazan.
Divisional SPs are directed to make effective security arrangements for all mosques, Imam bargahs and religious places of the city. He called upon Lahore Police to create a sense of protection in the hearts and minds of the citizens, so that they can perform their religious duty without any fear. In his order (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir issued here on Thursday also directed security branch to ensure proper checking through walkthrough gates and metal detectors during Juma congregations, along with ensuring parking of vehicles at a safe distance for which citizens' co-operation should be sought.
Ahmad Raza Tahir also directed concerned SPs to make surprise and effective checking at important places, along with ensuring effective search and surveillance to bring criminal elements and terrorists under the ambit of law. Ahamd Raza Tahir further noted that without willing co-operation of the people, security in Lahore cannot be ensured. CCPO called upon citizens to inform Lahore Police, in case they observe suspicious elements or things around them, so that the culprits can be nabbed and brought before the court of law, which will help in creating sense of protection among the masses.
