Punjab chief minister's kitchen gardening starts from August 15
The Punjab Agriculture Department is starting sale of quality vegetable seeds under the Chief Minister Punjab's 'Kitchen Gardening Promotion' programme from August 15 through out the province. For the Rabi season, 170,000 packets of 116 grams each containing seeds of 8 different vegetables will be on sale for the growers interested in kitchen gardening scheme.
The Punjab Minister for Agriculture Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh has directed the Agriculture Department to arrange 170,000 packets of quality seeds to vegetable growers during Rabi season under the Chief Minister's programme of promotion of Kitchen Gardening in urban area and to use all resources for the success of this campaign.
He was chairing a meeting of the Executive District Officers of Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Lahore Division at Agriculture House Lahore on Kitchen Gardening Campaign. He said that we will get self sufficiency in vegetables by growing vegetables at home level and by this project urban masses will get fresh and organic vegetables at their home. Dr Anjum Ali, Director General Agri. (Ext. & AR) said in his briefing that Agriculture Department will provide 170,000 packets of quality seeds to the vegetable growers during this Rabi season and its sale will be started by 15th August 2011 through District Government, Agriculture Department and other allied departments.
