The Lahore High Court Chief Justice here on Thursday adjourned for a week the proceedings in a petition seeking change of investigation in Nishter colony fake encounter case and directed all the parties conclude their arguments. Earlier the court rejected the plea of restraining the trial court for proceeding further in the case and observed that this point will be decided after hearing all the parties.
Seema Bibi, mother of a constable (Asif) involved in the case, filed the petition and prayed that the fresh investigation in the case be ordered and an officer of DIG rank be entrusted the investigation. The petitioner contended that the youth Shahbaz Butt was killed by Nishter colony SHO and incharge investigation but they were not implicated in the case. He said the constables Asif and Qadir only did aerial firing on the directions of the SHO.
