Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Barrister Masood Kausar has said peace has been restored in majority areas of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). He was addressing an awards and prize distribution ceremony for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and intermediate examinations 2011 of the position holders from Khyber Agency at Governor's House on Tuesday.
Parents, teachers of the respective educational institutions and position holder students attended the meeting besides the Political Agent Motahar Zeb and officials of education department FATA. The Governor said that a new era of people's active participation in their developmental and social matters was in the making in FATA.
"I have directed the political administrations to be people-friendly and take the tribesmen along in all the matters that are directly or indirectly related to their welfare and development", the Governor said adding that they wanted the tribal people to fully participate in the development activities.
In SSC examinations Fauzia and Sundas Afridi of GGHS Jamrud and Hajira Asghar of GGHS Karigar Garhi Bara stood first, second and third respectively in female candidates whereas in male candidates Abdul Baseer Khan of GHS No 2 Jamrud, Haider Ali of GHSS Jamrud and Hamid Nawaz of GHS Paindi Lalma Jamrud clinched first, second and third position respectively.
