The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under its ENTREPRENEURS project with Hashoo Foundation to roll out Value Chain intervention in the Dairy sector in District Bahawalpur, says a press release received here on Tuesday. The MoU was signed between Agnes Luz, Chief of Party, ENTREPRENEURS and Ali Akbar, Country Director, Hashoo Foundation.
Through the Value Chain work, USAID PAKISTAN ENTREPRENEURS in partnership with Hashoo Foundation will work towards increasing the incomes of 6,000 Dairy Farmers, predominantly women, by approximately 50 percent. The project also aims to leverage the private sector's role in selected dairy clusters through an elaborate system that includes strengthening the female livestock extension workers and female village milk collectors working in tandem with large processors. Hashoo Foundation will be executing plans for extensive training of the beneficiaries and linking them up with relevant business providers.-PR
