There was no let-up in targeted killings as eight more persons including two activists of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) were shot dead in various parts of the city, on Tuesday. According to police, Waqar and Naeem were shot dead while Adnan, Waqas and Faisal sustained bullet wounds when unidentified armed men attacked on their car (AKH-811) in Gulshan-e-Iqbal in the limits of Aziz Bhatti police station.
Police said both victims were residents of Gulshan-e-Iqbal and were active workers of PPP. A case 470/11 was registered against unidentified armed men on the complaint of the State. Tension prevailed in Surjani Town after two days of violence as two more bodies were recovered. Police found two bodies stuffed in gunny bags from Northern bypass.
Police said both victims, who had several torture marks, received bullets on their heads. They further said that they appeared to be Balochi speaking. The bodies were shifted to JPMC for post-mortem and later moved to Edhi Morgue for identification.
Two more bodies were found in gunny bags at Islam Nagar Ansari Mohalla, in the precincts of Iqbal Market police station. The identities of the victims were yet to be ascertained, police said. They said both victims appeared to be Balochi speaking and had several torture marks on their bodies. The bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for legal formalities and later moved to Edhi Morgue for identification.
One more body of a man was found in the trunk of a car at Old Golimar within the limits of Rizvia police station. Police said the victim received single bullet on his head and appeared to be Pushtoo speaking. One Farhan Baloch, son of Ghulam Hussain was gunned down in a drive-by shooting near Safoora Chowrangi in Sacchal police limits.
