Munter calls on Ibad

Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan said on Friday that the present coalition had produced positive results in the past and will continue to play its role in maintain a pleasant atmosphere in the province in future. He was talking to US Ambassador in Pakistan Cameroon Munter who called on him at Governor House here along with US Consul General William Martin this afternoon.
Governor noted that the country can start its journey on the road to growth and prosperity by improving law and order and maintaining political stability in the province. He was convinced that all the present challenges can be encountered by fully capitalising the existing vast potentials in various sectors of the provincial economy.
Governor said that the dynamics of Sindh, specially of Karachi are different from other provinces and we need to adopt a different line of action keeping in view the different ground realities. He noted that issues of urban and rural areas are different and therefore, they are to be tackled differently and their mandate should be respected.
Dr Ibad said that his mission was to give top priority to political stability in the province by creating a best working relationship between the various parliamentary parties. US Ambassador said that he highly appreciates the decision of President Asif Ali Zardari and MQM Chief Altaf Hussain to reinstate Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan as Sindh Governor, because it was significant for the country's stability, he noted.
He congratulated Sindh Governor on his reinstatement and said it will stabilise the province and open avenues for development in the province. US Envoy said his country will continue to extend co-operation to Pakistan for its economic growth.
