Misleading court: LHC directs IGP to take action against SHO, SI
The Lahore High Court here Thursday directed Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) to take action against SHO and sub-inspector of Raiwind police for misleading the court about recovery of 17 persons illegally detained by a kiln owner. The court issued these directions while proceedings with a habeas corpus petition filed by one Zubeida Bibi seeking recovery of her family members from the illegal detention of kiln owner Shabbir Gujjar.
The court also directed IGP to get recovered the detained persons and produce them before the court on August 05. On previous hearing, the court had directed SHO to recover the detainees and produce them before the court. SI Gulzar appeared before the court on Thursday last and told it that he had raided bricks factory but no person was found there. At this, petitioner-lady said SI is telling lie as he had joined hands with kiln owner. She said she was ready to say on oath that all persons are in custody of Shabbir and he had removed them to some unknown place.
