Suzuki eyes closer cooperation with Fiat

Published Updated

Suzuki Motor Corp could deepen its co-operation with Fiat amidst a rift with German partner Volkswagen, a German magazine reported on Saturday. "The co-operation with Fiat has been working well for years. It is easy to imagine that deepening the partnership would be of benefit to both sides," Automobilwoche cited a high-ranking Suzuki executive as saying in a copy of a report ahead of publication.
Relations between Suzuki and VW showed signs of souring this week with Suzuki Executive Vice President Yasuhito Harayama asserting the company's independence and saying the two needed to go back to the drawing board on their partnership.
