Wheat prices were higher on the wholesale grain market on Saturday in process of trading, dealers said. On the cereal side, wheat old and new bardan both went up by Rs 40 to Rs 2580-2595, makai, however, fell due to good supply position, low type was down by Rs 25 to Rs 2175 and good type was lower by Rs 50 to Rs 2200, other items maintained the overnight levels, they said.
Prices moved both ways on the rice sector as Irri-6 Sindh low type lost Rs 150 to Rs 3650 and good type also shed Rs 100 to Rs 3700, the Irri-white broken rice, however, gained on strong demand due to cheap rate as compared with the other qualities, dealers said. Irri-white picked up Rs 100 to Rs 2900-3000, they said. On the seed side cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh low type fell sharply by Rs 80 to Rs 1200 and best type shed Rs 25 to Rs 1300 in process of slow trading, they said.
