A sensitisation workshop was held in connection with 6th population and housing census 2011 in which Divisional Commissioner Tahir Hussain was the chief guest. Provincial Census Commissioner Dr Jamal Yousaf, Commissioner Census Habibullah Khatak, Divisional Commissioner Sargodha Shaukat Ali, DCOs of districts of Faisalabad and Sargodha divisions, other officers of district administration, police, education and local govt dept officers attended the workshop.
Addressing the participants of the workshop, the Commissioner said that the population and housing census was inevitable for durable social and economic development of the country. He said that the tasks of population census should be completed with great responsibility and commitment as accurate census would help in devising solid policies for the development of education, health, food and other sectors.
He termed the sensitisation workshop beneficial and useful steps for the motivation of the enumerators and supervisors of population census. He was assured of full co-operation by the divisional administration for successful completion of population census.
Earlier Provincial Census Commissioner informed the participants that the population census would be completed in the forthcoming months of September and October under second phase, while house census has already been completed in April and May 2011.
He highlighted the significance and importance of population census and stressed that the mistakes of house listing operation should not be repeated in the process of population census and accurate data should be collected under the policy guidelines. He urged upon the participants in the staff training workshop for successful conducting of population census. Commissioner Census Habibulla Khatak gave presentation regarding the review of house listing operations at strategy of population census.
He identified some mistakes and observations and said that the meetings of provincial, divisional and district co-ordination committees should be held for reviewing the arrangements of population census and stressed upon the monitoring of the process for making it flawless. During the workshop the queries of the participants were clarified under the administrative and legal frame of work.
