The government is all set to make mandatory registration of seed companies with Seed Association of Pakistan (SAP) in order to monitor the seed business. To issue a formal notification, DG FSC&RD Syed Mohammad Nasir Ali had a meeting with the executive committee of SAP. The meeting was chaired by Vice Chairman SAP Pakistan, Dr Qaiser Rashid and DG FSC&RD.
The issue of seed companies' registration with SAP was discussed in detail. A delegation of vegetable seed importers led by Dr Abdul Nasir Kasi also had a meeting with DG FSC&RD and it was mutually agreed that a committee would be constituted to discuss the issue regarding import of vegetable seed.
