Two candidates of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) have been declared successful from the seats of LA-30 and LA-36, Azad Jammu Kashmir elections, held on Wednesday, private television channels reported. According to unofficial results, the two candidates of MQM including Tahir Khokar and Saleem Butt who were contesting for AJK LA- 30 and AJK LA-36, have managed to win the seats from their rival candidates.
Tahir Khokar of MQM, who was contesting for the slot of AJK LA- 30, got 31414 votes, while Saleem Butt, another candidate of MQM, received 46,000 votes. He was contesting for AJK LA-36 seat. Similarly, a candidate of PPP Raja Faisal who was making efforts for clinching the seat of LA-16 Bagh, 4 Havaili, got 32,672 votes and was declared successful.
In Punjab, Abdul Rashid Mirza a candidate of PML-N, got maximum votes in the AJK elections. Meanwhile, Faisal Rathore of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Wednesday won from LA 16 (Bagh-4 Haveli) in Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly election.
According to unofficial results, Faisal Rathore, son of former AJK Prime Minister, Mumtaz Rathore secured 32,786 votes while his close rival Chaudhry Muhammad Aziz bagged 32,457 votes.
