Rice and wheat prices higher on grain market

Upward trend was witnessed on the wholesale grain market on Wednesday as buying improved by retailers to meet the consumers' demand during the month of Ramazan, dealers said. On the rice sector Irri-6 Sindh gained Rs 50 to Rs 3800-3900, Irri-white low type picked up the same amount at Rs 2850 while the best quality did not move any side maintaining the overnight level at Rs 2900, they said.
On the cereal side, makai low type was higher by Rs 75 to Rs 2200 while the good type retained overnight level at Rs 2250, wheat old and new Bardan followed the same pattern, gaining Rs 15 to Rs 2540-2555 in process of trading, they said.
On the seeds side, castorseed Lasbela picked up Rs 100 to Rs 2400-2450, castorseeds Sindh was quoted higher at Rs 2250-2300 and cottonseed oilcake with bag low type retained overnight level at Rs 1300 while the good type was down by Rs 35 to Rs 1340 on steady supply, they said.
