In occupied Kashmir, the polls for new Executive Body including the president and the general secretary of High Court Bar Association would be held on July 31.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Bar Association, which is one of the biggest platforms of the lawyers in the occupied territory in its notification said that voting for electing new Executive Body would be held on July 31, for which a five-member election commission had been constituted. To elect the new Bar Executive, 753 members have been entitled to vote on July 31. Presently, Bar Association is headed by Mian Abdul Qayoom, who was released from released in April this year after 11-month illegal detention under draconian law, Public Safety Act, for leading demonstrations against the killing of innocent Kashmiri youth by Indian police and troops.
