Firecrackers sale has been completely prohibited, as City Police fully prepared to take strict action who are involved in manufacturing fireworks or indulging in their sale and purchase with regards to the occasion of Shab-e-Barat. Teams have been formulated to take strict action against those people who are involved in this illegal trade.
According to police spokesman, City Police Officer (CPO) Azhar Hameed Khokar has directed SPs, DSPs and SHOs to take prompt action against those persons storing or selling fireworks by raiding their storage houses and forfeiting the illegal goods. The CPO said that no one would be allowed to sell the firecrackers on Shab-e-Barat and strict action will be taken against those who were involved in this mischievous activities.
He directed police officials to register cases against all of them who are violating rule of law, he said adding that strict action will be taken those officials who were found negligent in performing their duties. Earlier, City Police are conducting surprise visits in different localities to discourage the trade of fireworks. In the past, due to this illegal trade, worth million of rupees were lost and precious human lives were perished as fire erupts in godowns and storage houses.
