Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Smeda) and International Division of German Federal Ministry for Economic Co-operation and Development (bfz gGmbH) have signed a memorandum of understanding to co-operate in the area of Industrial Energy Efficiency improvement in SMEs sector.
Project Co-ordinator "bfz gGmbH", Germany Straehle Martin and General Manager, Operations and Outreach Division, Smeda Iqbal A. Kidwai singed the MOU on behalf of their respective organisations. The objective of this partnership is to optimise energy efficiency by introducing latest tools and techniques so that the industry might work economically, more efficiently and ecologically sustainable manner to ensure sustainable economic and social development. Under the agreement, both the organisations will jointly conduct detailed energy audits and implement energy management system with active participation of concerned industrial associations.
The partnership also includes training and seminars on the subject of energy efficiency for industry professionals and academic institutions. All activities, under the MoU, would be supported by German Federal Ministry for Economic Co-operation and Development.
