A fresh inflow of $2.309 million of foreign investors portfolio investment (FIPI) was witnessed at the equity market during the week ended on July 8, 2011. According to National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCP) data, the cumulative inflow of this mode of investment stood at $32.448 million during the period from January 1, 2011 to July 8, 2011.
This figure of foreign investment was much lower than $281 million came in the country's equity market during the same period in 2010. The foreign investors were net buyers during the first three days of the week while they opted for selling during the remaining two days. During the current month, the cumulative inflow was at $2.258 million.
