World Snooker Cup from tomorrow: Shahid, Sajid to represent Pakistan
World Snooker Cup will be staged in Thailand from July 11-17 in which 20 teams are participating. The teams have been divided into four groups of five teams. Each team will play four matches in the groups' stages and with each team playing each other once making four matches in the group stages.
Top two teams in each group will qualify for the quarter finals which will then revert to a straight knock out competition, a spokesman of Pakistan Billiard and Snooker Association said. According to him, all round robin matches are five frames and all five frames must be played.
All knock out stages are the best of seven frames. All teams are guaranteed US $7500 and the prize money will be shared equally between the team members. A two-member Pakistan snooker team has left for Thailand to participate in World Snooker Cup. Shahid Aftab and Mohammad Sajid will represent Pakistan in the mega event.
