Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to set up modern transport complex
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Transport & Information, Mian Iftikahr Hussain has said that the government has planned to establish a modern transport complex near new bus stands. The minister was speaking at a meeting of the Business Development Unit Transport Department (BDUTD), here on Friday.
Beside Secretary Transport, Azmat Hanif Orakzai, Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Shakeel Qadir, Director Transport Imdad Ali, Business Development Officer, Waqas Saleheen and other concerned officers were also present. The minister said that the survey would be conducted to solve the problems regarding parking in provincial capital and assured that the government would fully facilitate private investors in this regard.
He said that the government was working to formulate a provincial transport policy to provide better travel facilities and to overcome the problems regarding transport in the province especially in Peshawar city, which is about to complete. The minister informed that the vehicular emission testing station has been established with different site offices in D.I.Khan, Abbottabad and Mardan. He directed the concerned authorities to co-ordinate with transport associations before starting new projects.
