Government decision to restart Drug Control Organisation hailed
The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry has hailed government's decision to restart Drug Control Organisation and also hoped that Drug Regularity Authority (DRA) to be established shortly.
In a letter to the Secretary Cabinet Division, LCCI Standing Committee Convenor, Amjad Ali Jawa said that the pharmaceutical sector was facing a lot of problems due to non-functioning of the Drug Control Organisation in Lahore, Islamabad and other provincial capitals of Pakistan but timely action initiated by the Secretary Cabinet division has not only saved the businessmen from huge losses on account of imported raw material and finished medicines but would also help check the shortage of life saving drugs.
Jawa said that pharmaceutical industry would extend every possible help and co-operation to the government for early establishment of Drug Regulatory Authority as it is need of the hour. He said that pharmaceutical sector would continue to play its due role for ensuring quality medicines to the people at reasonable prices.
