Discos asked to improve recovery process

Federal Minister for Water and Power Syed Naveed Qamar has asked the power distribution companies to improve their efficiency and recover the amount from running and the old defaulters. He said this while presiding over a meeting of the Discos to review their performance and recovery status.
He asked them to announce incentives for the employees to recover amount from the old defaulters. He said that improvement in the recovery would help enhance fuel supply to the power units. The minister said that as per figures, the companies had achieved 90 percent of the recovery target, which needed further improvement.
The minister directed them to take stern action against power theft. Qamar also asked the companies to reduce their line losses and submit their recovery plan to the ministry. He directed the companies to disconnect the connections of defaulting private and government departments without any discrimination. Earlier, the CEOs of the Discos briefed the minister on the recovery status.-PR
