National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) arrested a culprit involved in looting a 70-year-old man by presenting himself as police officer. The spokesperson of the NH&MP North Zone (N-5) Aftab Aslam told Business Recorder that a person namely Muhammad Rasheed visited to NH&MP office and informed that he was waiting for Hiace near Rawat city.
Meanwhile, two unknown persons came to me who acted themselves as police officers and forcefully snatched a mobile phone and Rs 12,000 from me, and fled away by boarding in a Hiace. On the information, NH&MP and other Police Support Volunteers (PSVs) officers conducted thorough checking of Hiace at Islamabad Morr near Rawat to apprehend the culprits. NH&MP officers stopped a Hiace near Islamabad Mor and apprehend one culprit.
The culprit identified as Muhammad Afzal son of Ghaiba Khan, a resident of Attock. After completion of legal formalities, the arrested culprit handed over to Police Station Sihala. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) N-5 North Shahid Yar Khan and Inspector General NH&MP Zafar Ullah Khan have lauded the performance of NH&MP officers.
