The exports from Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA) during the financial year July-June 2010-11 showed a record increase of US $568 million in the export as compared to the export of US $411 million in 2009-10. This shows a tremendous increase of US $157 million during the year under review. The Authority is, however, determined that it will achieve the bench mark of US $1 billion by 2015.
This significant growth in exports reflects the confidence of the investors in EPZA and its policies. It also indicates that EPZA is doing well to fulfil its mandate for enhancement in exports. The economic growth of the country, the performance of EPZA has been a substantial contribution. The EPZA is confident that it will not only maintain the growth in export, but would also help in increasing the employment opportunities, contribute to govt. exchequer (in the form of Presumptive Tax) and growth of secondary industries.-PR
