The Punjab Agriculture Department (PAD) has asked growers to beware of fake pesticides dealers and buy pesticides from shops that have license number and certificate of registration from the Agriculture Department. Farmers have also been asked to properly check the packaging of pesticides before purchase and make sure it is not open or there is no leakage in the packing.
Receipts should also be obtained while procuring pesticides which should bear name of the pesticide, batch number and shops, a spokesman of the department said here Friday. The spokesman also said that pesticides should not be bought from bus stops, as they could be fake.
