WC first round qualifier: Bangladesh post easy win over Pakistan
1 min
Bangladesh built a comfortable advantage in their 2014 FIFA World Cup first round football qualifier after easing to a 3-0 win over Pakistan on Wednesday. Zahid Hasan Emily gave Bangladesh the perfect start by opening the scoring just 60 seconds after the first leg at Bangabandhu Stadium in Dhaka had kicked-off. Pakistan settled but were soon two-down through Mohamed Zahid Hossain's 22nd minute strike before Rethul Karim rounded off the win with Bangladesh's third 11 minutes into the second half.
Pakistan coach Tariq Lutfi will need to pick up his crestfallen squad ahead of Sunday's return fixture in Lahore if they are to prevent Bangladesh from claiming ticket to second round, where they meet Lebanon.
