Australian and New Zealand dollars struggle

Published Updated

The Australian and New Zealand dollars struggled to gain traction on Tuesday after bouncing from multi-week lows as worries about Greece's debt problems lingered, even as some hoped for a positive outcome. The Aussie last stood at $1.0441, having traded in a slim range between $1.0435 and $1.0480. It bounced off a 11-week low around $1.0392 overnight, a level likely to provide immediate support.
The Aussie held its ground against the kiwi and remained near NZ$1.2990, well above Friday's low of NZ$1.2851. The New Zealand dollar was becalmed around $0.8035.
