The Lahore High Court on Tuesday summoned Lahore CCPO in a habeas corpus petition filed by a woman seeking recovery of her minor son from the custody of her ex-husband. Shagufta from South Cantonment submitted that her husband Rafique divorced her and expelled her from the house. She said that Rafique also denied custody of her minor son.
She approached the court but the respondent did not appear before the court despite repeated notices. She said police also failed to recover the child from illegal custody of her former husband for many months. The court took strong notice of police failure in recovering the child and directed the CCPO to appear before the court on July 5th and explain his position.
