All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners' Association (APOTOA), Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, has warned if government fails to stop illegal collection in Khyber Agency, then oil supply will be halted to FATA. Speaking at a news conference, here on Monday at Peshawar press club (PPC), the provincial president of the association, Nasir Ali Khan said that the political administration, Khyber agency has imposed illegal tax on oil containers, which was totally unfair and unjustified.
He added that they are paying Rs 14,500 per oil tanker on local supply without any receipt. Accompanied by general secretary Jan Mohammad, and senior vice-president Muazzam Shah, he said, the Khassadar force had tortured and maltreated container drivers on denial. He said that they had met with Governor Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa in this regard, but the issue is yet to be resolved.
He viewed that the oil tankers' owners had continued supply despite unstable and deteriorating law and order situation, especially in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), but the political administration's indifferent attitude towards the drivers is totally out of the way. He warned if the government fails in bringing amicable resolution of the issue then they would be compelled to stop oil supply to FATA and block the traffic near Karkhano market to Landi Kotal in protest.
