Chief Justice Lahore High Court (CJ LHC) here on Monday summoned Inspector General (IG) of Police Punjab for July 4 in a petition of a citizen seeking recovery of his wife and action against a police official who kidnapped his wife and forced her into marriage.
The petitioner Muhammad Iqbal through his counsel argued that SHO Satu Katla police station Ghulam Dastaghir illegally occupied his house, kidnapped his wife Uzma and forced her into marriage. He said his wife is still in illegal detention of SHO. He pointed out that DIG Major Mubashar (Retd) conducted inquiry into the incident and held Ghulam Dastaghir guilty of offence. Later he was terminated from the service but no legal action was taken against him The petitioner prayed to the court to get his wife recovered and punish respondent SHO in accordance with the law.
