The Swiss franc rose against the euro on Friday, as a short-covering bounce in the single currency spurred by European leaders agreeing on a financial bailout package for Greece began to fade. Worries about debts in Greece pushed the franc to a record 1.1847 francs to the euro on trading platform EBS in Thursday's session, but the single currency then firmed as European Union leaders pledged funds.
The franc rose 0.3 percent against the euro to trade at 1.1922 francs per euro compared to the New York close. The franc also ticked 0.1 percent higher against the dollar to 0.8373 francs to the dollar.
