Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 123,435 tonnes of cargo including 66,614 tonnes of import cargo, 56,821 tonnes of export cargo and 4,291 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 66,614 tonnes comprised of 10,282 tonnes of containerised cargo; 225 tonnes of general cargo; 19,979 tonnes of bulk cargo: 15,880 tonnes of coal; 4,099 tonnes of DAP and 36,128 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 56,821 tonnes comprised of 42,811 tonnes of containerised cargo; 30 tonnes of general cargo; 5,147 tonnes of bulk cargo: 915 tonnes of cement; 4,172 tonnes of wheat and 8,833 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Eleven ships namely MT Karachi, YC Lilac, Overseas Leyte, Spar Virgo, UBC Cyprus, Maritime Setoshio, APL Pearl, LE Jin, COSCO Fukuyama, Hyundai Highness and CSL Ride carrying three oil tankers, three bulk cargo ships, general cargo ship and four container ships respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz Lodestar Genesis, MT Quetta, Buxmelody, STX Patriakos and Cap George carrying two oil tankers and three container ships respectively are currently at the berths. Five ships namely Afamia, Abdullatif-S, Lodestar Genesis, STX Patriakos and Buxmelody with two cement carriers, oil tanker and two container ships respectively expected to sail on Thursday, while two ships namely Cap George and MT Quetta with container ships and oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Friday.
A naphtha carrier Gem of Dahej due to arrive on Thursday, while eight vessels viz Remi, Kota Anggerik, Emirates Wasl, Hansa Constitution, CS Discovery, APL Sokhna, Bella and Oslo Trader carrying LSFO, six container ships and steel coils respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

A container ship namely CV CGM Strauss sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while another ship namely MV Fair Spirit will sail out to sea on the same day afternoon. A total number of seven vessels viz CV CGM Strauss, Acacia-N, Al-Azizoo, Orient-III, MV Sam Eagle, Indigo Ocean and Fair Spirit are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, fuel oil, wheat and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Five ships namely Nexoe Maersk, CSAV Pyreness, CGM Eiffel, Tamil Nadu and SC Guoji carrying containers, wheat and edible oil are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of four vessels viz Nexoe Maersk, CSAV Pyreness, CGM Eiffel and SC Guoji carrying containers and edible oil are expected to take berths at Containers Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Thursday.
