Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 149,095 tonnes of cargo including 95,575 tonnes of import cargo, 53,520 tonnes of export cargo and 5,623 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 95,575 tonnes comprised of 34,836 tonnes of containerised cargo; 785 tonnes of general cargo; 29,954 tonnes of bulk cargo: 28,500 tonnes of coal; 1,454 tonnes of sulphur and 30,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 53,520 tonnes comprised of 26,460 tonnes of containerised cargo; 12,191 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,327 tonnes of cement; 5,888 tonnes of loose bulk cement; 3,976 tonnes of wheat and 14,869 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Two ships namely Mercy Wisdom and APL Shenzhen carrying wheat and container ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Seven vessels viz Al-Mirqab, Hadis, Hyundai Highness, MOL Komati, UBC Cyprus, MT Karachi and YC Lilac carrying four container ships, bulk cargo ship and two oil tankers respectively are currently at the berths. Seven ships namely Taban-1, Positano, YM America, MOL Komati, Afamia, Hadis and Sea Wave with five container ships, cement carrier and sulphur carrier expected to sail on Tuesday, while three ships namely UBC Cyprus, YC Lilac and MT Karachi with cement carrier and two oil tankers are expected to sail on Wednesday.
Six vessels viz Al-Kuwaitiah, Emek-S, CSL Ride, APL Pearl, COSCO Fukuyama and ERK carrying high speed diesel oil, ethanol, three container ships and DAP carrier respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while six vessels viz MT Lahore, Eships Sama, Aspam Sun, Golden Express, Buxmelody and SYX Patriokos carrying crude oil tanker, mogas carrier, base oil tanker, chemicals carrier and two container ships respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

A container ship namely CV MSC Magali sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two more ships namely MV Al-Soor-II and Fuji Galaxy will sail out to sea on the same day afternoon. A total number of nine vessels viz CV MSC Magali, Acacia-N, Al-Azizoo, Orient-III, MV Sam Eagle, Indigo Ocean, MV Nahide-M, MV Al-Soor-II and Fuji Galaxy are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Three ships namely CV Deira, Nedlloyd Tasman and Fair Spirit carrying containers and furnace oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of three vessels viz CV Deira, Nedlloyd Tasman and Fair Spirit carrying containers and furnace oil respectively are expected to take berths at Containers Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
