Bajuar tribal elders demand implementation of National Assembly body decision
Tribal elders from Bajuar agency have demanded the implementation of decision of National Assembly standing committee on privilege regarding MNA Akhunzada Chattan, and warned that if government fails to accept their demand, they would boycott from joining Peace Laskhar in the area.
Speaking at a news conference, here on Monday, PPP vice president Fata and elder of Bajuar agency, Malik Mohammad Khan said that the committee decision was totally valid as per constitution and rule of law and acceptable to them. He said that the government should take action in accordance with law, who were created hurdles in implementation of decision of the committee. He explained that MNA Akhunzada Chattan had submitted privilege motion before the committee over sliding by political administration during Governor Khyber Pakhtunkwa visit to area.
Accompanied by PPP president from Bajuar agency, Malik Aurangzeb Inqelabi, General Secretary, Malik Khan, Bahadur along with scores of party leaders and elders of the area, he said that the non-implementation of the committee decision was tantamount to hurt privilege of parliament.
He praised that MNA had played vital role to raise issues confronting Fata, particularly raising key issue of Fata reforms and amendment in draconian law Frontier Regulation Authority (FCR). He, however, said that there are certain elements, who don't want to amend the FCR through adopting different tactics.
Whenever, he said the elected representatives had taken issues to bring reforms, and regarding drone attacks in tribal areas, but the political administration was always undermined the efforts by extending a special incentives to a certain group of tribesmen.
He alleged that the political administration had tried to divert attention from key issues confronting the Fata, especially Bajuar agency by creating rift and animosity among tribal people. The tribal areas are facing enormous difficulties in wake of prolonged security forces operation, in which large scale collateral damages were occurred, he maintained.
He explained that the donor and local assistance had been distributed among a group by political administration, which was totally injustice with war-affected tribal people. He demanded of the government for equal distribution of relief and financial assistance in tribal belt.
The government should announce special compensation package for affected people of Bajuar agency and waive off agriculture loans and provision of interest-free loans to regain business activities in the area, he demanded. Regarding different negative reports by a group in Salarzai tribe, he said that the conspiracy is being hatched to create law and order situation. He alleged that the group has embezzled funds and assistance on the name of peace Lashkar.
He held political administration responsible for the growing chaos and unrest in tribal areas, particularly in Bajuar agency. He demanded of the president Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister, Yousuf Raza Gilani, and Chairman National Assembly standing committee on privilege, to play its due role for implementation of decision of the committee regarding MNA Akhunkzada Chattan in letter and in spirit.
