Islamabad Police arrest 119 suspects

Islamabad Police in its ongoing drive against criminals have succeeded in arresting 119 street criminals, besides recovering looted items worth hundreds of thousands of rupees, including 119 mobile phones and eleven cars from their possession during the current year.
A special plan was prepared by SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan to curb street crime and directives were issued to all Circle incharges, SDPOs, SHOs and patrolling officers for effective policing as well as vigilance in their areas, said a spokesman of Islamabad Police here on Monday. According to the plan, record of those persons ever remained involved in street crime was also obtained by the police officials and their monitoring was ensured.
City Circle Police during the current year arrested 23 street criminals, Saddar Circle police arrested 58 persons and Industrial Circle police arrested 19, while Rural Zone nabbed 19 street criminals. A total of 119 mobile phones snatched or stolen by them and eleven cars were also recovered from them.
Acting IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan has appreciated the performance of police. SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan has further directed all Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) to ensure effective patrolling in their jurisdictions and take stern action against the anti-social elements.
