The Chief Justice of Lahore High Court on Monday sought a reply from secretary establishment division within fortnight on a petition of Lahore CCPO, Malik Ahmad Raza Tahir who challenged the delay in his promotion from grade 20 to 21. Tahir had filed this petition before his appointment as CCPO Lahore and pleaded that despite being qualified for promotion in grade 21 the department was delaying his case unnecessarily.
He said the department was delaying his promotion taking unnecessary advantage of a suo motu notice taken by former LHC Chief Justice against his previous appointment as Lahore CCPO and a departmental inquiry began on the court's orders. He prayed the court to direct the government to promote him in grade 21 without any further delay.
