Tehseen Anwar Shah has been appointed as new Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) of Pakistan on late Sunday, a private TV channel reported. Anwar Shah has been working as Additional DG Federal Investigation Agency. He is also a grade-21 police officer. He has officiated Inspector General Police (IGP) Gilgit-Baltistan province.
It is pertinent to mention here that Supreme Court of Pakistan had indicted former DG FIA Malik Iqbal in a contempt of court case for interfering in judicial affairs by writing a letter to the Interior Ministry of Pakistan, causing transfer of an officer who was investigating the multi-billion-rupee scam in the National Insurance Company (NICL).
