Saleem Shahzad's murder: Army supports setting up of probe commission: ISPR
The armed forces on Friday announced support for formation of a commission to investigate the murder of renowned journalist Saleem Shahzad who was murdered last month. In a statement, the ISPR spokesperson protested against reports in a section of print and electronic media against Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) with regard to murder of Saleem Shahzad.
It has been stated, "ISPR voiced concern on unfounded and baseless insinuations being voiced in a section of print and electronic media against ISI with regard to murder of journalist Saleem Shahzad." The statement recalled that such negative aspersions and accusations were also voiced against ISI in some previous cases but investigations proved them wrong. "We strongly support formation of a commission to investigate the murder of journalist Saleem Shahzad," the spokesman stated.
