The Karachi Port handled 91,767 tonnes of cargo including 58,954 tonnes of import cargo, 32,813 tonnes of export cargo and 3,117 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 58,954 tonnes comprised of 13,924 tonnes of containerised cargo; 22,766 tonnes of bulk cargo: 21,000 tonnes of coal; 766 tonnes of rice and 22,264 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 32,813 tonnes comprised of 25,028 tonnes of containerised cargo; 287 tonnes of general cargo; 7,498 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,566 tonnes of cement and 5,932 tonnes of wheat.
Twelve ships namely APL Ruby, Cosco Kawasaki, Hanjin Monaco, CSL Ride, Banjo Bridge, Battery Park, MT Lahore, Chemstar Brave, Golden Falcon, Seagull-D, Nadeem and Yuan Tang carrying five container ships, three oil tankers, two bulk cargo ships, bags and general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz Banjo Bridge, President Adams, Chemstar Brave, Mercy Wisdom and Nirmal Gautam carrying two container ships, oil tanker and two bulk cargo ships respectively are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely African Jaguar, Ocean Friend and Hyundai Confidence with wheat carrier, coal carrier and container ship are expected to sail on Thursday.
Three vessels viz Lieutenant Trieste, Hanjin Beijiang and Rio Grande Express carrying three container ships respectively due to arrive on Wednesday, while ten vessels viz Leader, Oriental Chemi, Greenwich Bridge, APL Chicago, Alliance Norfolk, Mahmut Saka, Maritime Setoshio, Spar Virgo, Calmy Coral and Sea Wave carrying mogas, two container ships, Vehicles ship, three coal carriers, general cargo ship and sulphur carrier respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.
The total export cargo of 18,167 tonnes includes 8,274 tonnes of wheat; 478 tonnes of cement; 1,519 tonnes of rice and 7,896 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Three ships namely UASC Zam Zam, CGM Mozart and Al-Sabahia sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while two ships namely MV Argent Eye Bright and MT Al-Salam-II are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of twelve vessels viz CGM Mozart, Al-Sabahia, UASC Zam Zam, MV Alexi-I, MV Abdul, Sam Eagle, MV Irini, Nahide-M, Golden Ambrosia, MT Al-Salam-II, Atena and MV Argent Eye Bright are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, wheat, chemicals, diesel oil, iron ore and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Six ships namely Rdeim, Indigo Ocean, Catterick, MT Kassos, CGM Rossini and ACX Hibicus carrying asphalt, wheat, chemicals, furnace oil and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of four vessels viz CGM Rossini, ACX Hibicus, Catterick and Rdeim are expected to take berths at Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal (MW1) respectively on Wednesday.
