The Industrial-Police Liaison Committee has evolved a new Security Plan by identifying 'Red Zone' with beefed-up security measures. IPLC Chief, Syed Omer Nazar Shah, briefed Rai Muhammad Tahir, CPO, about the blue-prints of this security plan.
He said that strategic offices situated on main Zila Council road, from Agrivarsity up to district council and from educator's school on Liaqat Road up to WAPDA office on Press Club road have been included in this high security zone. This Red Zone covers, district courts, session courts, regional police office and district bar association.
Syed Omer Shah said that special security measures will be taken for this area in collaboration with local police officials. According to the protocol for this Red Zone, entries would be restricted in this area while it would be out-of-bound for armed civilian. Entry of heavy traffic would also be restricted during specified time. Shopkeepers, vendors and private businessmen working in this Red Zone area would completely be screened before entry in the area. Pedestrians and vehicles entering into this area would be searched thoroughly. Barriers would also be erected on these roads. Cards would also be issued to the regular entrants of this area. The vehicles entering into this Red Zone area would also have stickers.
IPLC Chief said that close-circuit TV cameras will be installed at vital places of the area and a Rapid Response Police Squad would also be deputed in this area.
Rai Muhammad Tahir, CPO, appreciated this security plan and desired complete and comprehensive survey of the Red Zone area to identify any bottle-neck. Later, the CPO visited the Red Zone area. He also had a round of the Khurrian-wala industrial belt where IPLC has established three check posts. The CPO appreciated the up-gradation of the Khurrainwala Police Station by IPLC where a monitoring and call centre would also be established to monitor the movement of loaded cargo trailers.
