Infant mortality rate in Pakistan is higher than other countries as it is 65.1 per 1,000 as compared to India that is 30,18 and 20 in China. This was stated by speakers at a prize distribution ceremony of clinical biochemistry short course, arranged by the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Old Campus.
Punjab Medical College Principal Professor Dr Riaz Hussain Dabb was the chief guest on the occasion while DHO Dr Subhani, Dr Javaid Hussain Shah, Vice President, National Council for Homeopathic and Dr Aslam Dar, Principal, Danish Homeopathic College Shiekhupura were guests of honour on the occasion. Professor Dr Muneer Ahmed and Professor Dr Khalil-ur-Rehman from the host department also spoke on the occasion.
Dr Riaz urged the medical staff to work with devotion as a minor negligence can take a life. He stressed the need to become self-accountable so that people can get good paramedic staff and doctors. He stressed the need to provide state-of-the-art health facilities and trained doctors to all inhabitants of Pakistan. He hailed the steps taken by the department in this regard.
Dr Subhani urged to put their full attention on their profession to meet the health challenges facing the country. He said that qualified trained medical and homeopathic doctors and 'hakeems' are vital to provide the health facilities to people and these all should work side by side. He said that the country is facing big medical challenges and hardworking medical staff is providing a road to development in this regard.
