Bomb blast victims: heirs of deceased teachers given WHO award, $1000 each
World Health Organisation has awarded polio eradication hero award and financial assistance of 1000 dollars each to the heirs of deceased teachers who had lost their lives in the bomb blast on March 8 this year, while performing their duties in anti-polio campaign.
A function was arranged here at Government Muslim High School Tariqabad in which MPA Rana Muhammad Afzal was the chief guest. WHO representatives Dr Deborah, Dr Shoolaza, Dr Asif Saleemi, EDO Health Dr Javed Umar, DOH Dr Shafique, District Surveillance Co-ordinator Dr Habibullah, DDOH Dr Masooma Sarda, DO Secondary Kishwar Nahid Rana, Senor Headmaster Mushtaq Ahmad and others were also present on the occasion. An MPA and representatives of WHO presented award and financial assistance to Muhammad Sharif Baig father of deceased teacher Tariq Baig and Mumtaz Bibi deceased teacher Hafiz Muhammad Aslam and paid rich tributes to the services of the teachers. They said that the late teachers sacrificed their lives while performing national task of eradication of polio for safeguarding the health of future generation and their services would be remembered forever.
