Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 122,256 tonnes of cargo including 92,612 tonnes of import cargo, 29,644 tonnes of export cargo and 3,588 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 92,612 tonnes comprised of 22,957 tonnes of containerised cargo; 14 tonnes of general cargo; 33,641 tonnes of bulk cargo: 255 tonnes of wheat; 27,500 tonnes of coal; 4,914 tonnes of canola seeds; 972 tonnes of rice and 36,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 29,644 tonnes comprised of 14,771 tonnes of containerised cargo; 248 tonnes of general cargo; 14,125 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,025 tonnes of cement; 11,846 tonnes of wheat; 254 tonnes of rice and 500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Four ships namely Sheila Mcdevitt, Rosy Falcon, Moondance-II and YM Asia carrying three bulk cargo carriers and container ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Six vessels viz Bareli, APL Japan, Uru Bhum, Ocean Star, Seagull-D and Ain Temouchment carrying three container ships and three bulk cargo carriers respectively are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely Mire, Bareli and APL Japan with LSFO and two container ships respectively expected to sail on Wednesday, while another ship namely Uru Bhum with container ship is expected to sail on Thursday. Two vessels viz Blossom and Hs Challenger carrying chemicals carrier and container ship respectively due to arrive on Wednesday, while eight vessels viz Patriotic, Marilena, Chembulk Minneapol, Liwa, Cap Graham, Kota Akbar, Celina Star and Ocean Frined carrying two chemicals carriers, tallow oil tanker, mogas, three container ships and coal carrier respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.
