Germany's Commerzbank said it had raised 5.3 billion euros ($7.7 billion) with a rights issue as part of previously announced measures to repay almost 14.3 billion euros in state aid. The subscription price amounted to 2.18 euros, with 99.94 percent of the subscription rights exercised, helping Commerzbank repay 4 billion euros to German rescue find SoFFin.
The rights issue, which Commerzbank had priced at a 45 percent discount, is part of a series of measures by which Commerzbank plans to return 16.2 billion the state injected into the bank during the crisis.
