Budget session: no pass should be issued to guests, says Fehmida

Speaker National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza on Tuesday instructed the authority concerned to avoid bringing guests during the budget session to ensure security of the parliament. Speaker's remarks came in response to Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khursheed Shah, who earlier, pointed out that parliamentarians often accompany their guests in the Parliament House without their entry passes.
Shah said that the decisions taken in Business Advisory Committee were not being conveyed to the members. He said the practice should be stopped due to security reasons in the current scenario, adding that it was also decided in the Business Advisory Committee that no guest of the parliamentarians would be allowed to enter parliament without pass.
"No compromise would be made on security issue," remarked the Speaker, adding that no pass was being issued to any guest for the whole budget session. She said that the secretariat staff would not allow anyone to enter the premise of parliament without entry pass.
