Modest trading was seen on the wholesale grain and seed market on Monday as prices showed falling trend due to steady arrivals from upcountry centres, dealers said. On the cereal side, barley Sindh and Mardan were registered higher at Rs 2500-2600, wheat old (Bardan) shed Rs 5 to Rs 2490 and new type also dropped the same amount to Rs 2505, they added.
On the rice sector Irri-6 Sindh lost Rs 25 to Rs 3525-3575, other items did not show any change in process of trading, they said. On the seed side rapeseed Nawabshah was higher by Rs 75 to Rs 2300-2325, rapeseed Dadulane followed the same pattern, gaining Rs 150 to Rs 2050-2100, Mirpurlane low type rose by Rs 175 to Rs 2275 and best quality was up by Rs 150 to Rs 2300, rapeseed cakes low type shed Rs 20 to Rs 850, good type was lower by Rs 15 to Rs 860 and til low type gained Rs 100 to Rs 3500 while the best type retained its weekend levels in process of trading. Cottonseed oilcake with bag shed Rs 25 to Rs 1325-1390, they said.
